Im Lise Alderson. Kevin was our celebrant who took my mam kathleen Aldersons funeral service on 13.3.18. From our first meeting at my dads he listened with patience emphathy and genuine interest as we talked about our mam who died suddenly from breast cancer. He offered us support and guidance and asked valuable and insightful questions. Our apt. Lasting around 1.5 hours. As a large family we also rang him adding more bits wed thought of even on occasion at late hours. He always listened patiently assuring us it was never an inconveninent time and really going over and above the call of duty. The funeral he held totally summed the true spirit of my mam he spoke with such warmth and care that made us laugh cry and smile as he shared my mams life and loves. We as a family couldnt have got through it without him. Over 120 people attended and at her wake countless people thanked us for choosing kevin some assuming he must have known my mam and family well as he spoke with such love and understanding of what made my mam so special. We will always be grateful for all he did as he made such a sad loss a beautiful tribute and fitting celebration of my mam. My dad John and all our family and friends were so moved and thank him more than l can put into words. A truly special caring professional and amazing celebrant and man. I highly recommend Kevin Shepherd as a Funeral Celebrant. My family knew that a religious service for my Dad, Stan Fisher, would not be right for us and on the recommendation of the funeral directors, Kevin came to see us. He spent the afternoon with us talking about Dad and from that time devised a wonderful service to celebrate Dad's life. He included things from Dad's childhood all the way through to his short stay in a fantastic local care home. All the congregation felt included and interested, on such a sad day, Kevin guided us in celebrating Dad's life.
