I am a Humanist Celebrant accredited by Humanists UK (formerly the British Humanist Association) and have worked as a Celebrant for eight years.
Feedback by Email 2018: “I have always thought that I would choose a humanist ceremony just thinking that it would be non-religious but I now know that it is so much more. You ‘humanised’ an uneventful life and made him live again for all of us and for that we will always be grateful.”
I originally worked as a registered nurse in a variety of settings before making the move to the voluntary sector and a senior role with a medical charity. I still work part-time in the voluntary sector and I trained as a celebrant because I was inspired by the personal touch so evident in humanist funerals. I wished to ensure that all families had the opportunity to remember their loved ones in such a meaningful way.
Please see my Humanist Ceremonies website for more information and how I work.
Feedback sent to Humanists UK 2017: “Louise captured the very essence of my husband and delivered a truly memorable tribute that both the family, his friends and myself will treasure forever. How she managed to understand my husband and his life’s love and interests in such a short time amazes me. A terribly difficult job executed with such grace. I can’t thank Louise enough.”
Feedback by Email 2018: “Dear Louise, I just wanted to write and thank you for doing such a wonderful job at Dad’s funeral on Wednesday. Along with everyone else I spoke to it felt like you had really taken the time to get to know about Dad, his character, what he loved. You had such a calm and graceful air too – I am sure if you had met Dad, he would have thought you were great too! It takes real skill to do what you did on Wednesday – you are clearly wonderful at your job.”
