Comments and Feedback

These comments are from people who have used this celebrant's services.

Shirley spent time with me discovering and drawing out aspects of my mother's life withut being intrusive. She prepared a fitting tribute speech (eulogy) which she emailed to me for approval. She was quite happy for me to make any alterations that I felt appropriate making the finished product very much a joint venture. The funeral service flowed smoothly and Shirley was dignified and sympathetic in her delivery. She has a kindly demenour and a clear and expressive speaking voice which enabled her to create the right level of emphasis to the poetry reading and tribute. Whilst I hope not to have to use her services again in the near future I would be happy to recommend Shirley.

Shirley did our mother's funeral last week and she was brilliant. She was kind when she visited us, came up with helpful suggestions regarding the format and content of the funeral, took our ideas and incorporated them into the service. I cannot fault her. Her eulogy writing was sensitive and accurate and I have no hesitation in recommending her to you.

22nd June 2010

Thank you for your kind words Sue. My best wishes to you, David and the family.

My children Sam & Lucy and myself would like to thank you very much for a wonderful send off for Noel, the eulogy could not have been better it described Noel to a tee it will be a good memory for all my family and we have kept a copy to go in Noels memory box for the future generations to come, thank you once again Nita.

2nd July 2010

Thank you for Friday. Although I found it quite difficult to get through, I thought the ceremony was lovely and delivered with exactly the right mixture of respectfulness and celebration. We also had a lovely gathering back at the house. After the difficult time towards the end of Mum's life, it is a huge comfort to me to know that Friday was everything I could have hoped for.

2nd July 2010

I thought the service for mother was beautiful and will be forever grateful that you read out the eulogy in such a personal and sensitive way. My daughter was mentioned in the eulogy and as you read her name, you looked at her, which she found so poignant and moving. I thank you from my heart for that Shirley, because it those special details that help us as a family to get through this difficult time.

Many of the guests commented on how apt it was for my mother to have a woman celebrant and myself and my brother, although we did not get the chance yesterday, wish to thank you again for the time you spent with us and for being there to help say our farewells to our mother.

9th July 2010

we were not sure about a female doing dad's funeral, but Shirley was recommended to us by the funeral company and we are so glad that they did. everything about our contact with her was professional. she understood our needs and requirements and gently guided us through the process of the cremation service. she has a voice that is soothing and clear and she wrote a beautiful tribute to dad which really captured the essence of who he was. when she visited our house, she had so much patience and took into consideration our family circumstances, which are very complicated. she reassured us and we loved her for everything she did.

I would like to tell you how much I appreciated the very tender and caring way you conducted the service, you made everything flow beautifully. So many of my friends commented on how peaceful the service was and how you did Sid proud.

18th August 2010

I didn't get too long with you yesterday to adequately thank you for what you did for Marjory at her cremation yesterday. Perfect isn't adequate enough to describe your appraoch to your job. In every way you met our needs and more than fulfilled our expectations with the lovely and moving service you gave us. So many people came to me and remarked on your professionalism, and your kind and caring approach to what you do.

May God bless you in all that you do in the future. We will always be in your debt.

18th August 2010

What a lovely lady you are Shirley with a beautiful and clear speaking voice. We were so distressed by our sudden loss of dad, and didn't look forward to making the funeral arrangements, but Caring Lady in Hove and yourself just took all the worry away from an awful situation, for which we thank you. You were sensitive to our needs every step of the way and we shall always be grateful for your time and trouble in making last Tuesday such a special day. You really are a master of your craft. Jenny.

10th September 2010

just a quick note to say thank you very much for service you conducted for my dad Albert Gearing. It was done beautifully and you did us proud. It made the day more bearable for all the family. Once again thank you and I would be happy to recommend you to anyone.

18th September 2010

I had no idea what a servie without any religion would be like. I imagined it to be cold and rather anonymous, but how wrong I was. Shirley, you made it absolutely beautiful, a fitting tribute to mum, who would have been really laughing at your tribute when you talked about the money saving measures we had to make during the war!! All in all, it couldn't have been better, and everyone said what a beautiful service you conducted at the crematorium. Summing up. You were sensitive and caring and you have a lovely reassuring voice which did mum proud. Thank you, we are always in your debt.

21st September 2010

The family and I would like to say thank you for the very sympathetic and caring way in which you conducted the funeral service for my mother Doris House on Wednesday.

Your reading of the poems and eulogy was spoken in a very comforting way and I am sure my mother would have appreciated it.

We were sorry that you were unable to come back to our house afterwards but understood that your services were required elsewhere.

Shirley
I am writing to thank you for all your help with John's funeral service. All the family thought it was a fitting tribute to John and everyone has complemented you on your warm, caring manner and the way you spoke about John.

You were so easy to talk to at what has been a very difficult time and this made a hard task so much easier

18th November 2010

Thank you so much for being the celebrant at mum's funeral last week. The service went really. It was just perfect.
Your guidance was just what I needed at a very difficult time.

29th November 2010

Shirley gave a wonderful speech about my Mum at Funeral yesterday. She came to visit and spent some time with myself and my sister before the day and she helped us enormously with choosing the right kind of music and a couple of poems. She prepared a wonderful eulogy for Mum outlining her character and life which she delivered on the day with such feeling and kindness. It was a very befitting send off. Thank you Shirley. I would definately recommend her.

1st December 2010

Travis here, you conducted my dad's ceremony a month ago now.

I just wanted to say thanks, It's taken this amount of time to get my head around it and start say thanks to people for their contributions and support.

I really appreciate your attention and expertise when it came to my dads eulogy and I understand now why you said that you had the best job in the world - it truly is a magnificent ability to give people comfort and understanding in what must be the worst times in their lives.

8th December 2010

Don't know how you do it Shirley but I will definitely be recommending you because of the lovely caring attitude you showed to us from your first contact right through to the end of a beautiful service for mum. I wish you well for the future. You are great at what you do.
Simon Benton

19th December 2010

Well I can honestly say that when I heard what you had to say about mum, you could have been her best friend for many years! and yet you never knew her! I couldn't believe the things you had found out from dad about her, and how you put it all together in such a clever way. Everyone said this was one of the happiest services they had ever been to, a real celebration of her life which was sadly cut short, and despite the sadness of the occasion, and why we were there, your input made it a very special day. Thanks Shirley

2nd January 2011

Firstly Shirley I apologise for not posting this to you sooner but with Mum's funeral being close to Christmas this is the first chance I have had.
On behalf of myself and my family I would like to thank yourself and Caring Lady for all your help and support with what is a very sad and difficult time.
You made the situation much easier than I imagined, the Eulogy you read at Mum's funeral was a true reflection and a celebration of her life. The poem My Mother's Garden was beautiful and so apt.
Thank you so much.

6th January 2011

how nice that we had your husband's music too. That must have been quite nostalgic for you.

15th February 2011

The reason we had such a good funeral for dad was that you paid so much attention to detail Shirley. People remarked that this was the best service they had ever attended and they wanted to know how I found you. I hope we don't see you again too soon, because that would mean more sadness in our lives, but I hope we will keep in touch because it feels as though you are now one of our circle of friends. Thank you.

23rd February 2011

On the 21st February 2011 we met Shirley who was to facilitate my fathers funeral; what a wonderful experience it was both the meeting and the funeral. My mother, brother and I didnot know what to expect before, during or after the funeral - but Shirley took us through the process with such ease and reassurance that no question was 'silly', we were involved in the whole process but at the same time she was in control - the feedback from my father's friends was it was one of the best funerals they have ever been too - and you know what it was! Dad would have been so pleased, you gave us confidence through this very difficult time, thank you - Louise, Penny and Adam xx

I was recommended to Shirley by my friend Elaine. What a lovely lady, the eulogy said it all. Everyone was very touched by the way she had brought everything together of Sarah's short life, it was a fitting tribute to our daughter and would have no hesitation in recommending her.

20th March 2011

Dear Shirley.
I think we owe you a big thank you for all your work and effort you put in to my mum,s funeral, and interment.
You are a very kind lady, it was a pleasure to know you, even under sad circumstance's.
Love to you from us all.

30th March 2011

On behalf of Peter, myself, Jim and my son and his family, I would like to give our heartfelt thanks to you for such a lovely service. The words were lovely and the whole thing was very touching. There were parts which nobody knew about Rosemary and also some words to make us all smile.

On the way out, I think you asked me if the middle piece of music was right? Yes it was, thank you.

Thanks once again,

Best wishes June

8th April 2011

Just a few words to say thank you for your help creating a lovely ceremony to commemorate Mum's life. It was a very difficult time but the process of writing the eulogy plus choosing the music and poems was quite cathartic and allowed me to be more supportive to my family on the day. Although Dad's not religious he was very pleased with the ceremony and I think he liked the fact that it was more a celebration of her qualities and her life. I got back to Scotland yesterday after spending the week sorting through her things - it's so nice to be home and back to some semblance of normality.

A huge thank you for your support.

Kind regards.

Sally

Hello Shirley,
just a quick email to say thank you very much for the service you performed at 'Uncle Berts' funeral on Wednesday (20th april).
I must say the last few weeks have been a little bit of a blur and a little surreal with the culmination of 'Uncle Bert' passing away on the 9th of April, and then all the organisation needed up to the funeral.
We are so grateful to Gerald at Dillistones for passing on your name and so thankful that you were able to see us at such extremely short notice.
Everyone we spoke to at the funeral were so happy and impressed with the information in the eulogy and the way you captured Berts character.
Thank you once again for everything.

Best wishes,

Richard & Sue.

22nd April 2011

Yes Shirley - you are deserving of all the lavish praise that has been made on here about your gifts - of kindliness, understanding, empathy and quiet assurance we needed in our time of great sorrow. Your ability to guide and direct us through such a difficult time culminated in the most amazing service for mum and we will always be grateful that you were chosen to perform this service for us.

Dear Shirley,
I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much for the fabulous service you helped us organise for Dad on the 16th May. You made what was very difficult for us as a family so much easier to bear. We have had so many comments over the last few weeks about what a great service it was and you really made it a celebration of Dad's life. We all as a family feel we gave Dad a great send off and you really helped us do this. We would highly recommend you to anyone in the future, you were brilliant. Thank you so much. Best wishes Karen. 29th July 2011

Thank you Shirley for last Friday, or should I say all our contact with you leading up to the actual service which was a wonderful celebration of mum's life.  From the very first phone call the whole family were impressed by your appraoch. You were kind and sensitive, caring and in tune with our feelings and your visit to my house was an evening I will remember for a long time.  Everything was so relaxed and that was down to your leading.  You understood immediately what we were trying to achieve and for that we were grateful.  You had plenty of ideas, but you never once imposed your views on us - merely offered us choices to consider.

My brothers and sisters join me in thanking you very sincerely for making mum's funeral something we have never experienced before and we would highly recommend you to any other familoy in a situation such as ours.

With every good wish for the future.

26th September 2011

Dear Shirley, I just wanted to drop a few lines to say a very big Thank- You for your beautiful Eulogy to Dad,
even at that sad time every word meant so much to us all. as to how special dad was. So many friends, neighbours, and even grandson`s said,we have learnt so much about him today we never knew he had done so many things & worked so hard in the early years. We were lucky to have him in our lives as a friend or grandad. One grandson said " I feel sad I never knew this, because I would have loved to talked to him about all of those things".Told him not to be sad,he had memories of a happier times he had shared with his grandad, which is what grandad would want to be remembered for. Life will be different without dad,but all our memories we have,& shared will always keep dad very close to all our hearts.. So can I once again Thank-You so much on behalf of all the Hale family for letting  everyone know what made our Dad a very special person.Tina

29th September 2011

We are grateful to Caring Lady for putting us in touch with Shirley to conduct our grandson's service. Shirley's kindness, compassion, and wisdom helped so much not only with the planning but also during such a beautiful service.

11th October 2011

Dear Shirley
Thank you so much for the lovely celebration speech you gave for George.  It felt as though you knew him so well and also the family.  It was truly beautiful.
You certainly did your homework with regards to his naval duties aboard his main two ships!
I had so many people come to me after and say what a beautiful service it was and quite a few said after being there they realised it is just what they want.  Makes me feel good.
I have told Michelle Tanner how wonderful you were but Carly who was in attendance had already voiced her opinions, which were nothing but good.
Kind regards
Alma

13th October 2011

I can't thank you enough Shirley for what you did for me and my family.  The care you took in preparation for the service, which was beautiful, was something we didn't expect, and to come into the chapel and see the picture of Seaford Head on the screen was a bonus.  As you know, we live in the North so we were so grateful to you and Jane going to scatter Anna's ashes on the cliffs at Seaford.  The pictures you sent us and the copy of the poem you read during that time will remain close to us and give us comfort in future days now that her spirit has been set free right in the place she was happy.
We will always be in your debt and grateful as a family for all you did for us - going the extra mile.

20th October 2011

Shirley,

Thanks in advance,

How do you provide a fitting service for a baby who was only two days old?  Well, Shirley, you knew how to do it perfeclty and we will never ever be able to thank you enogh for your kindness.  We didnt expect you to waive your fee and that was so kind.  Our grief is unbearable but at least we can look back on a funeral service that help us cope with the sadness we feel at this time.  thanks so much.  Nigel and Flora

We felt we must thank you for the wonderful service you gave at my mother's funeral.  The whole celebration was perfect and I'm sure just what mum would have wanted.
With you at the helm, leading the way, we felt you were like a family member.  You got to know us and Mum and guided us on an excellent celebration of her life.

A short note to thank you so much for such a super service yesterday: it was much appreciated by us all and even though you did not know Auntie Winnie you conveyed her extremely well. Thank you also for your invaluable guidance on music and poetry as certainly for the majority of us this was the first funeral of this type we had ever attended and this too was much appreciated by everyone.

Dear Shirley,
Thank you once again for leading the service for Nancye today. The Australian way is that we generally get embarrassed at saying anything complimentary or nice, but I will try and change the habit of a lifetime and offer my sincere congratulations on your delivery of the service. It was kind, generous, good humoured and above all sincere and compassionate. Almost all of the guests commented what a lovely ceremony it was and all mentioned yourself in particular.
You have the most amazing capacity to touch people as though you have known them for years, that is quite a gift.
Val and I feel that we were most priviliged to have you chosen for us, thank you once again

Hi Shirley

Just a quick note to thank you very much on behalf of the Holden ‘clan’ for your services at Kevin Holden’s funeral service on Tuesday.

We met afterwards at Una’s home and many people said how lovely Kevin’s ‘send-off’ had been and how you handled the service with such dignity and friendliness. This was many people’s first exposure to an alternative to the usual ‘religious’ service and I think a fair few eyes were opened to your sensitive and thoughtful alternative approach.

With kindest regards

You certainly helped us understand Shirley that even though her visible presence has gone, mum will always be near us in our memories and because of the special part she played in our lives.  You made our parting so much more bearable and meaningful and with your skilful use of words and poetry, you helped us understand how to face our grief in a more positive way.  We didn't want an overly religious service, but just to pay respect to mum's beliefs and you gave us that, for which we will always be greatful.  Thank you Shirley for being there for us in such a wonderful way.  We will never forget you.

16th March 2012

Thank you for your help and thoughtfulness in the preparation and the conducting

Thank you so much for the beautiful service you provided for my mother last Friday, everyone commented on it.
We thought that our sincerity and warmth really gave my mother's life a meaning. The whole content of the service was excellent, the poems, song choice and eulogy were so touching, without being over-emotional.
You can be proud that you provided the most fitting end to my mother's life.
With our greatest thanks.

From your first contact, which you made so quickly, to all the arranging and carrying out of the funeral service, we were impressed by your qualities which have already been outlined on here many times.  Your quiet assurance inspired us and helped us when we were feeling desperately low, so the whole family want to thank you Shirley for your ministrations at such a sad time.  Mum would have been proud of the tribute you paid her and so we can wholeheartedly recommend your services to other families who need someone to guide them through a very difficult process.

Thank you Shirley from the bottom of our hearts.

11th April 2012

Just a quick thank you for everything that you did to make Mick's funeral that little bit easier. The weather was rubbish and it wasn't a particularly great time in our lives, but the service was excellent.
As with Peggy's funeral last year we received good comments about the service in general and you in particular, when we met people afterwards.
So once again we extend our grateful thanks to you.

30th April 2012

Dear Shirley,
Am just writing to thank you very, very much for the service you arranged for yesterday to commemorate Peter's life. All the family were so happy with the overall result, and although Peter's wish was for the most basic type of service and not to make "a big thing about it all", we all feel that he must be "Up There" feeling as pleased as Punch
about what we all came up with. The fact that we managed to contact so many of his old friends also who were able to attend made it a really wonderful day. I have just been reading copies of the Eulogy's from Sue and Grant as my hearing is so bad that I missed a good bit of the spoken word, and have really been having a good laugh.

There is only one little thing I feel I must apologise for - we have all had little experience or arranging a major funeral, and it was only late in the afternoon when we were chatting that I suddenly realised that we should have asked you to join us at the Chichester Lodge Hotel for the Wake. We all assumed for some reason that you would be going on to another funeral and just didn't think. So please accept all our apologies for not having invited you.

However, once again our many thanks for giving us so much help and advice, and making our half hour actually seem far more time in which to remember Peter.

No apologies are needed from you in any connection.  It was a honour and privilege to conduct Peter's funeral for you.

Shirley this is the third time you have done a funeral for our family and we now regard you as one of our friends.  It has all been said on here before, but your personal touch is what makes all the difference.  We have been to many funerals, as you do at our age, and we have never found anyone who is as sympathetic as you are.  You made another sad time for our family a celebration of mum's life and we will always be grateful.  Val and family

Dear Shirley

I wish I could find something original to say but the number of messages on this page only highlight to me what a wonderful lady you are and I am not alone in saying that.  From your first contact I knew we had nothing to worry about.  You confidently took care of everything we were dithering over and gently advised us, yet never imposed your opinion on us.  Dad's funeral was a real celebration of his life and for the part you played in it all, we can never repay you.  All our friends felt the same and there is no doubt you will be remembered by our circle as someone we would want to use again should sad circumstances arise.

Many thanks from the Barton family.  We were truly touched by your care and attention to detail.

I just wanted to say thank you for yesterday, on behalf of mum and myself. We felt it went really well and were grateful to you for your words and direction! People who were there said that they felt it had been a good send off for dad and that he would have approved!!

Many thanks again

Shirley - the family and I wanted to thank you for making Frank's funeral so special.

We were very blessed that so many people of so many different ages turned up to pay their last respects. If I was to be honest with you, many were dreading it - including myself. However, myself and the children; the family; friends and every single person who has been kind enough to contact us have all said - without exception - how lovely the ceremony was. I know we drove you mad with all our changes, but I do believe that in the end we gave Frank the perfect send-off.

You have a very special talent, Shirley, and we were lucky to have you on our team. You were empathetic. You understood immediately the tone of the ceremony we wanted and made the eulogy sound as if you would have really liked to have known Frank. You were patient with us while we faffed about being hopeless, and worked with us in the end to make it truly memorable. You even gave brave little Alec his round of applause! Thank you for everything.

Hello Shirley - just a note to say thank you for the making the service run smoothly- particularly hitting the music button at the right time! I think it all worked really well and was entirely perfect for mums last tribute. The chopin andante spianato was absolutely excellent for the committal dont you think? Andy and Melanie Derriman did an excellent job and I think mum would have been very pleased with the whole day as it progressed with the family gathering. It was nice to see the chapel full - probably not always the case with the elderly.
Thank you once again

Thank you so much for all you did for us on Thursday. We were so grateful to have someone so caring and compassionate there for us. You did such a beautiful job of telling dad's life story and, although we only had 40 minutes, none of it felt rushed, which was a true blessing to us.

Our family and friends were so moved and I lost count of the number of people that made a point of saying that it was a beautiful service and perfect as our final farewell to dad, he would have really appreciated it. Mum has already informed me that she wants you to be her celebrant when the time comes for her to join dad!! (I only hope that's many many years from now).

Thank you so much Shirley, you really made an agonising day for us all a little more bearable.

With kind regards,

Hi ShirleyI just wanted to say a sincere thank you to you for the way you conducted Mum’s funeral yesterday. I must admit I was a little concerned as to how things would go as you so rightly stated it is easy to talk about someone you knew but to talk sincerely about a person you have never set eyes on is so difficult. However you made is very sincere and both Tony and I could not have wished for better. Once again my sincere thanks. Best wishes Shirlee Wellington

Hi Shirley.....

Just wanted to send you a quick note on behalf of myself and my brothers to thank you for conducting the service for our father last Friday.

We were pleased with how everything went and cannot speak highly enough of the professional care and attention both Caring Lady Funeral Directors and yourself took with us and him. If he had been alive to witness the service and the pieces we chose on his behalf I'm sure he would have been impressed!

It was also nice to meet you in person finally rather than on Skype! Take care.... Nigel

Hi Shirley

We can not thank you enough for all you did for us yesterday.

It was a lovely service and you had so many compliments I had trouble
keeping up with them all.

They all said that they had not been to a service for a funeral that had
been in that way. And how nice it was.

We are sorry that you could not come back as there was plenty of food and
drink. But if you find you are coming our way please give me a call and if
we are in come and have a cuppa.

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN

A very good evening to you. On behalf of the 3 of us, and all Mum / Joan's family and friends, I would like to thank you very much indeed for such an appropriate, friendly and poignant funeral service yesterday at Worthing Crem. Your contribution was significant in a memorable and sad-but-happy (you know what I mean!) occasion.

Everyone remarked so favourably about you and your words, and how the service went so well. Mum's sisters particularly commented that Joan would have approved of the send-off, so we are very pleased with those comments. We also greatly appreciated your recommendation of "She is Gone" and other advice.

Thank you again, Shirley, for a super job.

Dear Shirley,

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the lovely words and the way you delivered them about my mum Irene Warren yesterday, The things you said about being a celebration of mums life gave me the courage to get up and speak myself. I was dreading the service but in fact I found it to be very uplifting full of laughter and tears mum would have LOVED it. You have a wonderful speaking voice and the things you said about my mum came from your heart and I thank you so very much for that. Shirley - Thank you for giving Charlie a very fitting send-off. All of the family and friends commented on how fabulous you were. Many of them thought you were a long-standing family friend such was your delivery and grasp of Charlie's life.

We were very glad to see so many people turn out and enjoyed catching up with them at the club afterwards. We even exchanged numbers and e-mail addresses with a few of Charlie's old friends who wish to stay in contact with us.

It's the end of an era for us, but we are surrounded by a lovely family for whom we can now dedicate much more of our time and indeed look forward to an enjoyable Christmas with them all, especially little Megan and Freddie.

Thank you once again for everything you've done for us and both Charlie and Jenny and I wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

On behalf of my sister Pat, my brother in law Colin and myself may I take the opportunity of thanking you for such a wonderful send off service for Mina, it could not have gone better.

Dear Shirley
I just wanted to say that yesterday you made a difficult day for me so much easier. The caring and brilliant way in which you delivered John's Eulogy is something I will never forget.
You are very blessed to have such a special talent; one that is most needed at our time of loss.
So many people mentioned to me afterwards how impressed they had been with your words and deliverance and asked about your work.
Do carry on with your necessary profession. You are very much needed in our world today.
Thanks you Shirley - best wishes - Beryl O

Thank you for much for the kindess and consideration you showed to me and to the memory of my dear friend, Barbara, at a sad and difficult time. Your support, care and understanding when you came here to discuss the funeral service were a great comfort to me.
I am most grateful for the time and thought you gave to the planning of the service. Bless you for keeping in contact by e-mail and for giving your time unsparingly.
The service was lovely; many of the congregation said so. You have a rare and special gift which you share with others and which was much appreciated on the day of the funeral.
You helped the family, friends and myself say our fond "goodbyes" to Barbara and help us to remember the happy past times we spent with her. Without even meeting Barbara I truly felt that you did find the essence of her character.
Again - my grateful thanks. I am so glad you could conduct the service; it meant so much to me.

I've been wanting to write to you to say how I and my family and friends much appreciated the service you provided at my dear wife's funeral on 27th January 2015 at the Worthing Crematorium.
Without exception everyone to whom I spoke said how senstively and reassuringly you conducted the service.
It's no exageration to say that - with the special gift you have - one felt that you had known Vi personally and further that you fully understood the terrible sadness which we were understandably feeling. My one regret is that you never got to meet my gentle and caring Vi in person.
May she rest in peace.

Good evening Shirley

I just wanted to send you a special thank you e-mail for helping to make the pain of losing my dad just that bit easier. The unexpected pain of his passing has been one has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with and arranging things such as the funeral among other things has been such a blur, however I was so enlightened to have found yourself. That brief time we spent at uncle Gerald's discussing the upcoming eulogy really helped me to reflect on what was best about my dad and that I feel is so important

I really felt you delivered the service perfectly and difficult though it was to attend such a service I really feel you gave my dad the justice he so deserves. I couldn't have imagined it going so well and it wouldn't have been possible without your support.

Perhaps somebody who wanted to do it her way - but nothing could be further from the truth because when you come to see us I knew straight away that mum would of loved you and evrything you suggested. The hole family loved you and nobody could of done it better. Thanks Shirley I feel we have found a new friend

My family and I want to send you our sincerest thanks for your wonderful performance today at the funeral service for Winifred May ********. Right from the moment we first met in the planning stage, your calm, sensitive manner and wide experience put us at ease. Your clear and well-paced reading of her story, followed by your lovely final words and prayers were a delight. We count ourselves very fortunate to have been in such capable hands, and had you met Mum (May) I feel very sure you would have got on famously!

You will be pleased to know that the following event at Stanmer House went equally smoothly and we have emerged from a difficult day feeling that we did her proud, and can think of nothing we would have changed.

We will all long remember your significant contribution, and hope that you feel a great sense of pride in it.

With our warmest regards

Hi Shirley,

I was sorry not to be able to attend Pat's funeral on Wednesday, however feedback from all who attended said how nice you made the service for them. I know this must be very difficult especially when you have never met the deceased, however the staff were very grateful and said how you made it very personal.

I would like to thank you for giving Pat a good send off. We all really appreciated that.

Kind regards,

Karen

Shirley,

Thank you for your hard work yesterday. I felt the ceremony was just what my wife would have wanted and much of that was down to you.

Your efforts were very much appreciated,

Terry

Hello Shirley,
Just had to say a very big thank you for the wonderful service for my lovely fella. Everything you said was perfect and we all had a such a lovely time remembering johnboy, all our friends and family thought that it was the nicest, happiest, funeral they had ever been to. John would have been so proud of you, at making it so easy for us, it was a sad , but happy time, thank you for helping us through a difficult day, you are just so kind.....all the family send you their love and thanks.
We have had a great party, and have now cleared and having a cuppa tea. Phew!
It's going to be a strange time now, funeral over and no one to look after...it's going to take a bit of getting used to, but am sure the family have a few plans up their sleeves during the coming months!!
Once again Shirley, a very big thank you for keeping us under control...you nearly had a line dance session your hands...and you don't know how close that was! Hahaha! Johnboy would have laughed his socks off!!!
Love Terry xx

Dear Shirley,

I just wanted to thank you for the fantastic service you gave for dad on Friday. We have had so many comments on your skill and ability in delivering such a warm, heartfelt address. Everyone has said what a lovely, fitting tribute it was to dad. Like myself before I think you have changed several people's perception of what a funeral can be.

You also made it a much easier experience for myself and mum knowing that it was in such safe hands.

It has been a pleasure getting to know you.

Sarah
