Mike to talk about his funeral planning service

The venue is The Coates Centre at Oakhaven Hospice, Lymington, Hants on May 13th 2019 at 2pm. Part of Dying Matters Awareness Week

The non-religious funeral service or celebration of life conducted by a Funeral Celebrant and not an ordained clergyman is a fast growing phenomenon in the UK. More and more people prefer to have a service unique to their loved one; a funeral that gives thanks for and celebrates a life, whether short or long. My talk will tell you all about this and how a funeral of this nature can be organised and structured as well as outlining a unique new service some Funeral Celebrants now offer, planning your own service or celebration of life in advance. We will talk about the range of options open for alternative funerals and explore them all from the latest trend of (so called) direct funerals, through to private cremations or burials with a tailored memorial service at a later date to the scattering of or internment of ashes and even discuss the law and regulations about exactly where someone can be buried. We will ensure our subject is covered comprehensively but of course with sensitivity.
